District 6 Families, Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 19, 2021, which is a District-Wide Remote Learning Day. All students, and staff, whether “Clicks” or “Bricks”, will be learning from home. This day is to prepare our staff, students, and families for possible closures in the future. Remote Learning Day will copy your student’s current schedule. You can expect your student(s) to have 2.5 hours minimum of live learning. Their teacher will be available through email and Remind throughout the entire school day.

Bricks or Clicks Pathway Change

At the end of every quarter, you are allowed to make a pathway change between Clicks or Bricks. The end of quarter 2 is Tuesday, January 26. You will soon receive a Brick/Click Pathway Change form link from your principal. If you are interested in making a pathway change, please complete the form by Friday, January 15th. As you may know, one of the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is through testing. Therefore, we are extremely excited to announce that Zion Elementary School District 6 with the help of the Illinois State Board of Education and the Lake County Health Department, will be implementing rapid testing (BinaxNOW) within our schools starting January 2021. Rapid testing will help facilitate the continuation of in-person learning throughout our entire District. Here you will find, The Blueprint.

Students will take-off down the runway of Waukegan International Airport (via Zoom), as they read “Touch the Sky” by Captain Barrington Irving. They will then color people Purple as Kristen Bell (of Frozen), and her partner, read students “The World Needs More Purple People.” As they continue their flight, girls will learn that they are “Enough,” from Hollywood Actress and Author, Grace Byers, who appears on Empire and Chicago PD.
